Mr. Thomas Ashley took a leap of faith by leaving his job of nine years at A.O.Smith in 1961 to begin “Ashley’s Bar-B-que” located at 1501 W Center Street and developed an amazing soul food legacy that now his son Darnell Ashley is carrying on. Along with his many awards over the years he is also the winner of the 2017 BBQ Brawl and nationally known for having one of the best BBQ restaurants in Milwaukee.
